    VERBENA

The verbena plant just seemed to hold so much symbolism and cultural significance. Verbena has been used by many civilisations and cultures for thousands of years right up to this present day, but the Verbena plant has always represented safety, healing, creativity, and joy. Verbena flowers are seen by many as sacred plants and symbols of healing and so the name just really resonated with me on so many levels so, that’s why the name ‘Verbena’

Testimonials

  • Well, whilst studying the many essential oils that I now use in aromatherapy, the verbena plant just seemed to hold so much symbolism and cultural significance. Verbena has been used by many civilisations and cultures for thousands of years right up to this present day, but the Verbena plant has always represented safety, healing, creativity, and joy. Whilst you might have one of the 250 species of the Verbena Genus looking very pretty in your garden, the verbena flowers are seen by many as sacred plants and symbols of healing and so the name just really resonated with me on so many levels....So, that’s why the name Verbena.

  • Wear whatever you want, but in general, I’d say just dress comfortably. Too vague? Ok then for me I’d say comfy underwear, joggers, loose fitting t shirt or sweatshirt. That’s just because when I personally have a massage I like to go home and rest and really don’t want to have to get changed!

For reflexology I just need to have access to your feet and lower legs so dress as comfortable as possible, avoiding buttons, belts or anything that might cause you discomfort. All I’d say is just be aware that if you wear tight clothes, then you might not be able to fully relax.

For Indian head massage I just need to have access to your head, neck and shoulders, so you will remain mostly dressed, so just make sure you’re comfortable. A strappy vest top is ideal for ladies.

A full body massage requires partial nudity, always keeping on your underwear. You will be given privacy to strip down before the treatment begins and asked to lay under a towel or blanket, which will be provided. It’s pretty standard practice to undress to your underwear for a massage but just because asking people to undress is “normal” for me, I appreciate that you may feel uncomfortable, so rest assured I’ve got you covered! I want you to know that you’ll always be covered with at least one large towel. I will strategically move towels throughout your treatment to safeguard your body. When I work on the full back, I fold the towel down at the hips and I’ll gently tuck the towel into the waistband of your underwear, to protect your clothes from getting massage oil on them

Just know that as a professional therapist I’m bound by a code of ethics – I respect that code, and my aim is to make you feel at ease so you can get the most from your chosen treatment.

  • Before any treatment we will always complete a consultation, together. I offer a free consultation for all clients (new and existing), which can sometimes last up to 30 minutes. For existing clients, this might only be a 10-minute chat, but I will always allow time, on top of your treatment time, to discuss any changes to your wellbeing since your last visit.

Apart from being a standard legal requirement, consultation forms provide all necessary information I need to learn about you, your present health and wellbeing and your medical history.

It isn't to pry into your business or judge you for your lifestyle or conditions, the consultation is a way to enhance your overall wellness experience and ensure you have the safest kind of experience that also provides what you truly need. Your treatment is likely to involve different essential oils, and blending different combinations of oils can give way to different results. So, a consultation helps us both make an informed decision on what is best, just for you.

Here at Verbena, the treatment time shown is the amount of "hands on" treatment time you get, so always allow yourself an extra 30 minutes, on top of the treatment time stated, when you book your appointments.
