Swedish (Traditional) Massage
Why Choose Swedish Massage?
Because it’s good for; muscular disorders (such as arthritis, back pain, shoulder pain), boosting the circulatory and immune systems, aiding relaxation, stress-related disorders (such as insomnia, headaches, migraines, eye strain), and digestive disorders (such as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal cramps)
Swedish massage is the most traditional form of Western massage. Swedish massage, or traditional massage as it sometimes called, fluctuates between being a relatively gentle massage to a firm massage and focuses on the body's superficial layers. I will use different massage techniques including gliding; stroking; kneading; tapping and pounding to stimulate your nervous system, improve your circulation, soothe your muscles and make you feel more relaxed. Swedish massage therapy uses softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of your body, and stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage. This adjustment of pressure makes it an ideal massage for relaxation and easing any muscular strain by flushing out toxins.
I can use a carrier oil, such as grapeseed or sweet almond or 100% natural Songbird Liquiwax, which contains pre-blended essential oils. Together we will select the massage medium that is right for you based on your presenting physical and emotional condition at the time of your treatment. Alternatively, I can create a bespoke essential oil blend just for you (add £10). All you have to do is lay back, relax under a cosy blanket and let the healing begin.
